Hello everybody. Good day, and welcome to this edition of LawBARD's 5 Things video series. In a previous 5 Things, we discussed digital reputation management and things that every firm must do to successfully manage their online reputation, Today, we'll discuss five online tools, Apps and sites that can help you do manage your online reputation. This includes:
- Google Alerts
- Social Media Monitoring Platforms
- Reputation Management Platforms
- Online Review Platforms
- Website Analytics Tools
First, Use Google Alerts
This free tool from Google is a simple yet powerful way to monitor mentions of your firm. You can set up alerts for your law firm's name, attorney names, or any other relevant keywords. When those keywords appear in new online content, Google will send you an email notification. It's an easy way to stay informed about what's being said about you online. Keep in mind that Google Alerts only monitor indexed web pages, news articles, blogs, and videos, but not on social media posts, so this is a good starting point, but you are not done yet.
Second, We have Social Media Monitoring Platforms
You also will want to monitor social media platforms such as Facebook, X, and Instagram among others. Tools like Hootsuite and SproutSocial allow you to monitor social media channels for mentions of your firm, track brand sentiment, and engage with your audience. These tools help you stay on top of conversations happening around your firm on social media.
Third, Use Reputation Management Platforms
Next, we have dedicated reputation management platforms. While Google Alerts and social media monitoring tools are a good start, you may want to think about using a full-function reputation management platform that covers your entire online presence, especially if you have a large, multi-practice or multi location firm, or if digital marketing is a critical component of your marketing efforts. These are comprehensive tools designed to streamline your reputation management efforts. Platforms like ReviewTrackers, Birdeye, and Podium offer a range of features, including real time review monitoring across multiple sites and social media platforms, tools for responding to reviews and analytics and reporting to track sentiment towards your firm. These platforms can significantly simplify the process of managing your online reputation.
Fourth, We Have Online Review Platforms
While these are not specifically Tools for reputation management, it's essential to actively manage your presence on online review platforms. Claim and optimize your profiles on sites like Google Business Profile, Avvo, Yelp, and other legal directories. These are often the first places potential clients look for information and reviews about your firm.
Lastly, We Have Website Analytics Tools
Website analytics tools like Google Analytics provide valuable insights into how visitors interact with your website. By understanding user behavior, you can identify areas for improvement in your online presence, which indirectly contributes to reputation management. For example, you can see which pages have high bounce rates and need improvement.
Bonus, ADA Compliance Tool accessiBe
As a bonus, make sure your website is ADA compliant. This ensures that those with disabilities can interact with your website, which indirectly also contributes to your reputation. Tools such as accessiBe are simple, easy to use tools to ensure that your website is accessible and usable by everyone.
These six tools, apps, and sites can significantly enhance your law firm's reputation management efforts. By using a combination of these tools, you can effectively monitor your online presence, engage with clients, and build a positive reputation.
