Hello and Good Day! In today's episode of LawBARDs five things, we wanted to briefly discuss Google’s Business Profiles, what they are, and why you should set yours up today if you haven’t already!
Setting up Your Google Business Profile is Free
It is a free service that enables your law firm to be listed and appear in both Google Search and Google Maps. Having a Google Business Profile for your law firm helps enable your firm's visibility in Google location-specific queries. This is a big deal as 50% of all searches include a location element and law firms, in particular, are typically found using location-specific queries.
Your Google Business Profile Helps Your Law Firm Be Found
Like all other your other marketing efforts, in building your firm profile, be concise and focus on what makes your firm unique and better for prospective clients and ensure that you are using SEO keywords in your description.
It Enables Your Law Firm to Receive Google Client Reviews
By enabling your Google Business Profile, you have the ability to get Google reviews. These can help build credibility but remember that for clients to give you a review, you generally have to ask them. Also, it pays to ensure that your clients are happy prior to having them provide the review.
Your Google Business Profile Can Help Your SEO
Having a Google Business Profile will not only help your law firm be found in local searches, but Google does take into account the number and quality of reviews when ranking businesses in the search results.
How to Handle Poor Business Reviews
You should absolutely monitor your reviews and if you get a poor review, you can both respond to it in hopes that the reviewer takes down the review and if they don’t, you can contact Google and dispute the review. Note, though, that Google won't mediate a dispute, but will take down reviews that violate their guidelines.
Maybe there is no such thing as a free lunch, but most law firms have not set up their Google Business Profile and this is both free and has several benefits that can both help you get found and gain credibility with potential clients.
That’s it for another episode of LawBARD’s Five Things. Have a great day!
